Initially the UCA financed cattle to the associated families through a system of refundable fund. Subsequently, the UCA managed to have its own cattle with the obtained refunds in animals. These animals have been maintained in various cooperatives by means of payment agreements by feeding and looking after the animals. This cattle is the main income source of our organization since a few years ago.
Since 2005 the UCA decided to concentrate all the cattle in just one cooperative, in order to optimise the management the cattle. To do so we invested in slums, in repairing fences, and in sowing grazing. Moreover we have improved the register systems and the sanitary, reproductive and alimentary handling of the cattle. Currently the exploitation of the cattle is managed by the Cattle Commission, composed by three cooperative associates.
